Lowell Signs in Boston

Mike Lowell has decided to stay in Boston signing a three year deal worth $37.5M. It was believed that Lowell was offered a deal in the 4/$55-60M range by the Yankees, but I guess Lowell's heart was in Boston. $12.5M a year is pretty good for Lowell, although he probably could have gotten 3/$45M from the Yankees. Staying at third in a city that loves you, or changing positions in your rival town. Fairly obvious choice.

The Red Sox seem certain that Coco Crisp will be traded to make room for Jacoby Elisbury. There have been some talks with the Twins. The Red Sox would also jump in to negotiations with the Twins if Johan Santana became available.
