Cubs May Make Prior Available

The Cubs have untill December 12th, the last day to offer contracts for 2008 to unsigned players, who haven't filed for free agency. Then, the arbitration process will occur and all of that good hard to explaine stuff. The idea of trading Prior has recently come up. Prior will be a free agent after the '08 season, and hasn't pitched in the bigs since August 2006. Giving Prior a one year deal worth $3M with incentives and an option would probably be what the Cubs would like to do, although, it might not be that easy. Then there's non-tendering Prior, which makes no sense to me at all. Trading Prior for a hopeless prospect mkes more sense. I could see the Cubs bringing Prior back. Afterall, they did bring Kerry Wood back.
