Yankees Talking Santana with Twins

It's now semi-official. The Yankees have began negotiations with the Twins for who could be the best pitcher in the world, Johan Santana. The Twins had offered Santana an extension, he countered and the Twins didn't want to go that high. Now, as expected, the Yankees have started negotiating for Santana's service. Santana has one year left on his deal before he can become a free agent.

The Yankees would have to give up atleast one of Robinson Cano, Phil Highes, Joba Chamberlain, and Ian Kennedy. A package of Melky Cabrera, Cano, and one of the three pitchers has been thrown around. I'd say that these talks will go on for a long time. The Twins want a lot, and the Yankees will likely try to get out of this with as little damage down as possible. If the Yanks can get Santana without losing one of the four mentioned, than they will most likely be pulling off a huge steal.
