Odds and Ends

The best post of the day.
  • The Angels and Marlins are getting closer to a deal involving Miguel Cabrera. It's believed that the Angels will part with Jeff Mathis, Reggie Willits, and Howie Kendrick. Nick Adenhart is on the Marlins' radar, and could be the missing piece.
  • The Pirates have some interest in Matt Clement.
  • The Tigers are still in the mix for Octovio Dotel.
  • Mariners GM Bill Bavasi and manager John McLaren met with free agent starter Huroki Kuroda, and are expected to make an offer in the four year $45M range.
  • Carlos Pena is believed to have been offered a three year deal worth $30M.
  • The Brewers are looking at Troy Percival after losing Francisco Cordero.
  • The Mets are talking Bengie Molina with the Giants. The Mets have already acquired Johnny Estrada, but as they say, you can't have too much depth.
  • The Pirates are listening to offers for Jason Bay.
