Rangers Talking Five with Hunter

Torii Hunter is said to be the Taxas Rangers' top priority this offseason, and the two sides shared a meal last night. The Rangers are trying to rebuild, and building the team around Torii would make sense. Hunter has been rumored to be asking for 6/$90M in his next contract. 5/$60M won't be enough because that's about what Aaron Rowand will get. Five years at $15M per, would give Hunter $75M over the five. Texas has about $20M extra available thanks to Alex Rodriguez opting out. Putting a chunk of that towards a guy like Torri Hunter would make sense.
