Santana Rumors

The never ending saga of Johan Santana continues. These are the teams that are believed to be interested in acquiring the pitcher.
  • Yankees: The Yankees have the best prospects, the money for Santana, and the guts to get a deal done. Robinson Cano and Joba Chamberlain are believed to be untouchables. So Melky Cabrera, Hughes/Kennedy and another pitcher could get the deal done. If that's all that the Yanks give up, than they have gotten a steal.
  • Red Sox: The biggest reason why the Sox are here is that the Yankees are here. The BoSox already have an amazing pitching staff. But, they don't want to trade Jacoby Ellsbury, which could provide a huge problem. Instead, the Sox want to trade Coco Crisp along with Bucholz/Lester is what the Sox want to offer. Jed Lowrie, Brandon Moss, and Kevin Youkilis are believed to have been discussed too.
  • Angels: The Angels will liekly only provide a little bit of pain in the Yankees side as to acquiring Santana. The Halos have the players, but won't likely be making a solid offer.
  • Mets: The Mets have there sights set on Dan Haren and Joe Blanton, but will likely get invloved in the Santana sweepstakes. Like the Angels, the Mets have the pieces.
  • Mariners: Probably a dark horse for Santana. It would likely take Adam Jones, Brandon Morrow and Jeff Clement. That's a pretty steep price.
