Catching Up

I've away from my computer for the last day, so this post will sum up most of what happened yesterday:

  • The Mets have some interest in David Eckstein as a second baseman. Eckstein might be a plan B for Luis Castillo. Eckstein might be able to get 3/$21M as a shortstop, but stands no chance getting it as a second baseman.

  • The Mets would also like to trade for Orlando Hudson. Although they do want to save theire best trading chips for a front line starter via trade such as Johan Santana.

  • The Yankees signed Jose Molina to a two year deal worth $4M to backup Jorge Posada.

  • The Royals are close to signing Japanese pitcher Yasuhiko Yabuta to a two year deal.

  • Kenny Rogers fired his agent Scott Boras, after he declined the Tigers two offers to him, without consulting his client.
