Miguel Cabrera Trade Rumors

Now pretty much up for auction is Marlins 3B Miguel Cabrera's potential new teams.
  • Dodgers: A source says that the Dodgers are making a bug push for Cabrera. He'd be cheaper than A-Rod salary wise, but what would he cost player wise? Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, Andy LaRoche, Chad Billingsley, Clayton Kershaw, Scott Elbert, and Jonathan Meloan have been thrown around so far. Billingsley doesn't look to be available.
  • Angels: The cross town rivals could consider Cabrera a consolation for Alex Rodriguez. Brandon Wood, Nick Adenhart, and Mike Napoli/Jeff Mathis/Hank Conger has been thrown around. I'd make that deal. But I'm not the Angels' GM.
  • Giants: Cabrera could be the new face of the franchise. But it would cost the Giants more than they would like to give up.
  • Yankees: Why not? The Yanks need a 3B and have the package for him. It appears that Melky Cabrera will be traded for sure, but aren't too interested in trading Joba Chamberlain, Phil Hughes, or Ian Kennedy. I'd say that Kennedy will be the one traded if the Yanks decide to trade on of them.
  • White Sox: The White Sox would love to add Cabrera. The package would start with Josh Fields, but what else would they have?
