GM Meetings Rumors

A few rumors from this week's GM meetings:
  • The Marlins have made 3B Miguel Cabrera officially available. The Marlins have talked with potential trade candidates about what they'd want in return. It would have to be a really nice package. They want two-three top flight prospects, and atleast one of them a blue chipper. The Red Sox, Yankees, Angels, Dodgers and Giants will be the main contenders. Cabrera still has two full seasons before free agency.
  • Hank Blalock could be available. The Dodgers and Red Sox have been to sais to have been interested in the Rangers third basemen.
  • Mariano Rivera has recieved a three year $39M offer from the Yankees. He hasn't responded to the offer yet. He'll probably wait a little while before signing because he is the best free agent closer.
  • The Rangers don't have much if any interest in Barry Bonds
