Jennings, Castillo, Eckstein

The Mets are back on the Jennings bandwagon and would like to add him to the rotation. That makes it the Mets and Rockies with interest. If Jennings is healthy, than he can be a decent middle of the rotation guy. No real financial number has been put on Jennings yet, but probably three years and atleast $20M or more.

The Astros are interested in 2B Luis Castillo. The Mets have interest in bringing Castillo back. Not many teams have a need at 2B so don't expect a bargaining war over Castillo. Kaz Matsui, and David Eckstein are other decent options. The Rockies are expected to offer a two year deal to Matsui, but will drop out of the running if the price is too high.

David Eckstein's best option would be to list himself as a SS who can play 2B, instead of a 2B because he'll get more interest as a SS, which means a better contract. Look for him to get a two or three year deal worth around $6-7M per.
