Young Guns Available

Three of the young stars in baseball today could be dealt this winter. The Marlins are shopping 3B Miguel Cabrera. Cabrera is one of the best young hitters in the game right now, and could get an eight figure salary for next season, which is something the Marlins will hope to avoid. If Cabrera is traded, than Dontrelle Willis is likely to stay where he is. Back to the young guys. The Orioles have said that they will listen to offers for P Erik Bedard. Bedard has emerged as one of the game's young stud pitchers, and should take a ransom of a deal to get him out of Baltaimore. Bedard could be looking for a deal that would pay him atleast $16M annually, which he could get on the open market. The O's aren't fond of long term deals, but could make an exception for him, if he will stay, and they don't rob one of the other 29 teams in the league. Devil Rays P Scott Kazmir could be available too. Kazmir is an excellent young lefty and is still under contract for another three seasons. The Yankees could consider Kazmir if they aren't able to get Johan Santana. Starting with a Phil Hughes type pitching prospect, and probably another prospect and a now player. That would mean the D-Rays trading in their own division which, if the price is right they could do. Almost every team would be interested in all three.
