Red Sox Exercise Pitchers

I think that it is the day of exercising in the MLB. The Red Sox continued on with that by exercising P Tim Wakefield's $4M option and P Julian Tavarez's $3.85M option. Wakefield's option makes sense and worst case scenario is that he ends up as a reliever. Tavarez's was a tougher decision. He could easily net a couple tears and a couple more millions of dollars as a potential FA. I think that that's the reason the BoSox picked him up because he was cheap.

Also, Tom Glavine could have some interest in finishing in Boston. For some potential Schilling news, check out his website, www.38pitches.com.
