Mariners Decline Guillen
The Mariners said no thanks to RF Jose Guillen, declining his $9M option for '08. Guillen is asking for three years and $30M. He'll get it easily. For the Mariners to bring him back, they would have to shift a lot around. Only one of Wladimir Balentine and Adam Jones have a potential roster spot for next season and using neither doesn't make much sense. To me, Jose Guillen is a bit overrated, but so are most of the players putting up averageish numbers, and still get three years and $10M a season.
