Yankees Exercise Abreu's Option

The Yankees took an educated risk and exercied their $16M club option for Bobby Abreu. Abreu Hit .283 last season with 16 HR and 101 RBI. Seriously, $16M for that? Abreu's career line is .300/.408/.5oo (BA/OBP/SLG), which is above average and is worth something. But only 16 HR last season isn't great. 101 RBI is good, and the .283 clip isn't any better. I think that the Yankees are afraid that A-Rod won't be back, and so they will carry out tradition and put rediculous amounts of money on players who don't deserve it.
