The Yankees so far have had the most eventful offseason, and still have more to come. Already, Joe Giradi has replaced Joe Torre as manager, All-Star 3B Alex Rodriguez opted out of his contract and will probably won't be back, and George Steinbrenner has passed the team down to his sone. After A-Rod and Torre, are Posada, Rivera and Abreu. The Yankees, surprisingly haven't made an offer to Posada. Yankees were set to offer Posada a three year deal worth $40M, but what happened? It could take four years and $56M, which the Mets could do, or maybe a rediculous five years.
With 3B, the Yanks have talked with Kenny Williams about the availibility of Joe Crede. Crede is a FA after'08, and is a Scott Boras client. The asking price would be pretty low if you asked me.
RF Bobby Abreu's option has to be decided on tomorrow. I'd say the ticker points to the exercise.
